Our story is anything but ordinary. Honestly, if you had told either of us years ago that we would end up here, we would've laughed in utter disbelief. Ironically, we went to high school together for three years, walked the same halls, had mutual friends, and somehow never said a single word to each other, not even as much as a shared glance. Looking back, it’s wild to think about how many opportunities there were to cross paths, but now we know it wasn’t just chance; it was God—his perfect timing, introducing a foundation of seeds that would soon sprout to be fruits neither of us knew we would bear. Two people, joining as one, exactly as He planned.
God's beautiful plan had begun to unravel through the ministry of InterVarsity, where we served together during Gianna’s first year of college and Justin’s second. At the time, we were still living our own separate stories, not realizing God was already weaving them together in intricate ways. Months of praying and sacrificing for the Lord did not go unnocticed to Jesus; He blessed and confirmed what He had already started. One night, Gianna told Justin she had a dream that he would be her future husband, so yes, she definitely made the first move. Justin was caught completely off guard, but that moment said so much about the way Gianna trusted God’s plan, even before Justin knew he was part of it.
What followed was about a month of intentionally getting to know each other deeper, emotionally and spiritually. Through this, God made it clear that this relationship was something worth pursuing. When we started dating, it was never just for fun; it was with real intention, and marriage was always the hope behind it.
From late-night walks to conferences, Bible studies, time in community, shared tears, and hour-long conversations that left us snoozing alarms the next morning, God has been at work in every part of our relationship. In such a short time, He taught us to know each other purely and deeply, not simply because of our own effort but because He has remained at the center of it all. A relationship built on the foundation of Christ will never fail to endure. Our relationship has been tried, but it has also been prayerful, purposeful, and full of grace along the way. We have seen both the beauty and the cost of pursuing Jesus and pursuing one another.
We are so thankful for all that God has done in our story, and we can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with the people we love.
